CT Scan No. 2
Family and Friends,
Sawyer received the results of his CT scan this afternoon, and we wanted to be quick to share that with you who have been so diligent to pray for us and check in on us. The results showed that his lung nodules have continued to decrease in size and his esophagus tumor is stable. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! The oncologist said this is a good report because there is no new growth in the esophagus and some improvement to the lung nodules. As treatment time increases, the amount of change we can see can get smaller, so no new growth with stability and improvement is still positive. We are very thankful as we enter into this Thanksgiving week. The plan now is to do 4 more rounds of chemo and then repeat a CT scan to assess things. These results will be discussed by a team of oncologists to determine what we should do next, either radiation or some type of surgery. We will continue with Sawyer’s next chemo dose here in Houston, but have scheduled an appointment with our oncologist in Huntsville to try and get the remaining three treatments done there. Lord willing, this will allow us to be home for several weeks and closer to family through the Christmas season.
Thank you for continuing in this journey with us. We are very thankful for your intercessions on our behalf. One truth we’ve been refreshed and encouraged with particularly lately is the comfort of knowing our Savior is interceding for us even as we type this, on days of good news or bad. How deeply calming and comforting it is to know that He is fighting for us, and not only that, but He has already defeated sin and death and sickness altogether. Please continue to pray with us for complete healing for Sawyer’s body. We pray this healing occurs for His name’s sake so that, even though they are more than can be told, we may continually recount the deeds of the Lord all the days of our lives here on this earth.
Please continue to pray for:
1. Continued protection of Sawyer’s liver.
2. Protection against neuropathy from the chemotherapy.
3. That we would keep our eyes FIXED upon Jesus, and nothing else.
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus be upon you,
- Sawyer and Amy
